The San Francisco Emergency Rental Assistance Program (SF ERAP) provides assistance once per calendar year to eligible San Francisco residents who:
Have past-due rent;
Cannot afford move-in costs for a new unit they have identified and plan to lease; and/or
Need limited assistance with future rent to maintain their housing.
Eligibility Criteria:
Current resident of San Francisco
Household income at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for your household size
If applying for back/future rent: Experienced a recent financial hardship within the past 12 months.
Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH), RAD, and HOPE SF tenants only: Please work with your property management and onsite services before applying to confirm your eligibility. Special processes apply for tenants in these programs.

We help veterans find a place to live and maintain permanent residence. We provide housing for over 500 veterans in our supportive housing programs. We work one-on-one with veterans to determine the best options for them to meet their individual needs.

At Compass Family Services, we’re passionate about helping families who are experiencing homelessness and those who are at risk become stably housed, emotionally and physically healthy, and economically self-sufficient.
Families can access drop-in services at our 37 Grove Family Services Hub during open hours. We offer the following:
Groceries
Diapers, wipes, and formula
Toiletries and other hygiene supplies
Mail pick up for families using Compass as a mailing address
Referrals to programs and services inside and outside Compass
Assessment for shelter and housing
Other basic needs items are provided as available
